Beginning Carving
Saturday, December 12th | 8:30AM – 11:30AM & 12PM – 3PM
Beginning Carving workshop with Nalu Andrade of Na Maka Kahiko introducing participants to different types of carving tools, carving techniques, and characteristics of different types of woods. Introduction to carving chisels and micro chisels. A hands-on workshop where students will learn how to use the tools to make different cuts, profiling, form, and technique. Upon completion of the workshop, students will create a reference board with the various types of cuts and an ‘ohe kapala. Cost: $75, or $50 for current garden members. Fee includes tools and supplies. Call 249-2798 or email info@mnbg.org for reservations.

Spend your morning helping the Gardens thrive through weeding and propagation. Come prepared to work with covered shoes and gardening attire.

Learn to make a living wreath from Native Hawaiian Plants in time for the Holidays with MNBG Executive Director, Tamara Sherrill and ‘ohana. Cost: $50, or $25 for current garden members.
