Saturday, September 23, 9 to 12 pm – Ka pili oha mai kaʻāina a ka moana ke kalo (The interconnections between land, sea, and kalo in variety names.)

ʻElepaio, ʻO‘opukai, ‘Apuwai…Hawaiian kalo cultivar names also refer to other things. Hawaiian Cultivars Manager Namea Hoshino will teach about Hawaiian land, sea, animal, and plant names and their connections to kalo varieties names. Apply your new knowledge as you practice identifying differences between heritage varieties.

Cost: $40 for current Garden members, $65 for new members.
