This is a two-hour workshop that is limited to four (4) participants plus one instructor per time slot. Times are: 8AM–10 AM, 9AM–11AM, 10AM–12PM, 11AM–1PM, 1PM–3PM, 2PM–4PM, and 3PM–5PM.
One hour of instruction on making a carving mallet out of kiawe wood and one hour for practice. Upon completion of one-hour workshop, students will be able to test out their mallet for no longer than one hour using provided wood and tools. Participants are welcome to bring their own chisels if they wish. The second hour will be mainly self-directed with instructor supervising. Materials provided include lathe, carving tools, kiawe wood for mallets, and wood for carving.
Cost: $60 for members; $85 for new members; includes finished mallet and practice piece.
Only two people will begin each class at one time. Time slots will be given on a first come, first serve basis as payment is received. Participants are required to wear a mask the entire time they are on site. Click here to download a registration form and return by email to info@mnbg.org.
