Lā ‘Ulu – Booths
Lā 'Ulu Breadfruit Day has been postponed till 2023.
Please check back here for the new date - this is a FUN event!!!
The purpose of this event is to provide outreach about the use of ‘ulu to Maui residents and the Native Hawaiian community, by bringing together Hawaiian researchers, farmers, chefs, and food producers to share their work with ‘ulu. We hope that getting the word out about ‘ulu will help increase demand for traditional Hawaiian foods, increase viable crop choices for local farmers, and increase resident interest in preserving other Hawaiian plants like the unique Hawaiian cultivars of kalo, ‘uala, kō, ‘awa, and mai‘a featured at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens. Booths will be hosted by Hawaiian organizations from across the state that are involved in ‘ulu research, promotion, and growing, in addition to Maui cultural and environmental groups.
