‘Apu ‘Awa (Coconut Shell Cup) Making Workshop with Chris Ikaika Nakahashi

‘Awa (Piper methysticum a.k.a. Kava) is an important ceremonial plant in Hawai‘i and across Oceania. Special drinking cups, called ‘apu ‘awa, are made from a coconut shell, cut lengthwise, and used for drinking ‘awa. Make your own ‘apu ‘awa with practitioner and MNBG Vice President Chris (Ikaika) Nakahashi.
Cost: $45 for members and $60 for nonmembers.
