Garden Tours
Learn about native Hawaiian plants and their role in Hawaiian ethnobotany from an alaka‘i kuhi (resident docent). Your alaka‘i kuhi will demonstrate traditional uses of endemic, indigenous, and canoe plants growing at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens and tell a few of their many stories during this one-hour outdoor tour. Tours are limited to 9 people or less, and groups must practice strict distancing between those not in the same household. Proper face coverings will be required for all participants over the age of 2.
Self-guided walking tour brochures and self-guided audio tour wands are also available and free with the price of admission. Available Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All tours cover the conservation, natural history and cultural uses of Hawaiian plants. For school group inquiries, please call (808) 249-2798 or email info@mnbg.org
